Boolean Operators

Use Boolean operators to develop your search strategy. Boolean operators are:

AND = combines terms

  • ex: feminism AND photography

OR = includes one or both terms

  • ex: cat OR kitten

NOT = excludes terms

  • ex: orange NOT fruit
