OhioLINK / SearchOhio Delivery Delays: Updates

State-wide OhioLINK and SearchOhio delivery delays

The State Library of Ohio and OhioLINK, who manage and coordinate the delivery of materials between libraries, recently switched delivery vendors. The new courier, STAT Courier Service, Inc., is facing a severe backlog of delivery items to libraries across the entire state due to driver and supply shortages. These delays are impacting all libraries, including the Jessica R. Gund Memorial Library at Cleveland Institute of Art. We have been in regular communication with OhioLINK about our concerns with delays. The State Library of Ohio, OhioLINK, and STAT Courier Service, Inc. are working very hard to resolve this issue as fast as possible.

How long will it be until the books I ordered come in? or

How long until the CIA book I need gets returned?

Unfortunately, we are unable to answer these two questions. Our hope is that we will begin to see regular deliveries before the beginning of the semester, but we expect transit times to be longer than normal for the whole semester and request that you plan accordingly. Please be assured that all involved parties are working as hard as possible to resolve this issue.

Delays are expected to continue for the entire Fall 2021 semester, so plan accordingly.
